Today is an opportunity I did not want to miss, even though I knew from experience I more than likely would if not given the right motivation!
What triggered my hands to tap this keyboard and pick up something I started back many years ago, was a suggestion by one of our team members at CWPT!
The idea was to bring the BLOG back to life, ‘‘The Coach’s Corner’’, as he liked to refer to it. He was to give an insight into the life and mindset of our CWPT Team Coaches and of course, generate more traffic to our website, which will lead to a greater opportunity to help more people.
That being said, my intention is to provide relevant content, which aims to educate and entertain, from a self-reflection on what I am currently experiencing, and how it is helping me. By reading, I am sure you will be equipped with tools that can help your craft, even if right now you do not require them, they will serve you when needed.
I want to start by thanking you for reading so far, and always supporting me because whether you know it yet, you are a huge help in helping my vision become fulfilled.
There have been many years since writing my last blog, which can be found on this website also, although it was written for a previous one.
I was in the Maldives, it was my Birthday, 4 and a half years ago. It was a vacation, one I needed, but did not appreciate how much I did. I worked so much, too much. At the time I had too many online and 1-1 clients, I was giving them a lot of me, which I always did, but with the volume of clients, and the fact I would not sacrifice the service or experience, I was left with little time for me or time spending with my wife. It was a huge strain on my well-being and my relationships.
I remember thinking back then that there was no time to rest, not that I didn’t believe that rest was needed, I knew it was, but I was in a chaotic style of mind, everything around me was moving so fast, and I found myself always jumping into the next thing to do, as I knew there was always more to be done, which is true to this day, however, my understandings have evolved.
Since then, so much has changed, I think the biggest one is that I am a father, which is the best title I have owned, and one I know I must always prove to deserve, which has put so many things into perceptive. However, the changes began a long time before he came, it was when I ran into a wall, and it hit me, as hard as I hit it.
Today I am sitting in our CWPT office/gym that was honestly created with the intent to tighten my circle and then expand it out as far it we can. It is a place I could work from, run meetings, create content, conduct consultations, train clients, train myself, train my team of trainers, and train their clients. A place where I can oversee everything and minimize the need to travel elsewhere.
Since the idea started it has expanded into less about me, and more about others, and how CWPT can be a vehicle to help many people transform, whether it be the clients or the staff, or anyone working alongside it. A one-stop shop for everyone, for everything they need to succeed. The vision is growing every day, and that is due to the intellectual, talented, and passionate people that are now a part of this brand, from the marketing team to the sales team, to the admin, to the service team, they have all embodied the original mission that I set out on, which was ‘‘To help as many people as we can, become the best version of themselves’’.
What got us here, which is not the finish line, was not an accident, it was an accumulation of making small decisions daily, the compounding effect, and for me, it was all from self-reflection of what I personally needed to work on to grow. You see, growing up without a father taught me many things, it made me strong, and under the impression that I didn’t need anyone, because I didn’t have the people around that most people did. Which served a great purpose, it created a unique mindset, and a capability to achieve greatness! But what it neglected me from was the truth that was inevitably going to smack me in the face.
Everything that was driving me was my ego, me, I, I can, I don’t need, etc., it was also fueled by the fear of feeling alone, and afraid, and left behind, AGAIN!
I now know that ego is part of me, and a great part of me that I can call upon whenever I need to, but more often than not, if I do not control it, it controls me. If I don’t put it out of the way, it is in my way, trying to pull me back, so, I befriended it, I keep it close, I learned from it, and we work together.
This also opened my eyes up to those around me, and how even those that can work against me, can also work with me if I see them as part of a bigger picture. Like a drop of water in the ocean, each playing a role, and moving together. It allowed me to realize that if I really want to make a change in the world, it will take more than I, it is a collective movement of many, and I could not do it alone, no matter how much I tried, the more that accompany the idea the further it can spread.
I strongly believe that we are stronger together, especially since I ventured many paths of my own, from winning bodybuilding titles to transforming hundreds of clients, which was all great, however, now we are a growing team of likeminded people, all aiming for the same goal, which is bigger than us all, I am far more confident we will achieve it.
So, I want to leave you with this thought to spend the next few minutes pondering. The goal you have, the one that comes to mind right now, do you think you can achieve that alone?
If the answer is yes, the next question would be, why would you? Having more people to accompany you will not only increase the likelihood of it happening but will make the journey more enriched for you and them.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, I hope you enjoyed it, and it left you with something to think about and act on.
Alone we are Strong. Together we are Unstoppable.
